Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS)

ACAS is an independent public body which aims to improve organisations and working life through better employment relations

 It provides up-to-date information, independent advice and training and works with employers and employees to solve problems and improve performance. Most cases referred to it are resolved without resort to an Employment Tribunal. It is publicly funded and its council is appointed by the Department for Trade and Industry.
